Various Stories of My Vacation in North Sumatra

The semester break has arrived! – When I was in semester 5 I joined the MBKM program so that the courses I took were converted to the program I was taking. After the program ended, I took a vacation to North Sumatra. Why to North Sumatra? Because at that time my sister was pregnant with her baby and asked me during the semester break to help and accompany her at home. That day arrived, I departed from Jakarta to Medan by plane with a two-hour travel time. Upon my arrival at Kualanamu airport, Deli Serdang, I immediately took the luggage that was in my trunk. After that, from the airport to Medan, I used the airport train, which took 45 minutes. When I arrived at the Medan Kota station, I immediately ordered an online taxi to the hotel. There I met my brother and sister. After that, we continued our journey to Padang Bulan to the house of our grieving relative. Finished sailing we returned to the hotel. The next day we continued our journey to Merati Paham, Rantau Parapat. Our journey was very long because we had to travel for 6 hours by train from Medan Kota Station to Rantau Parapet Station and two hours from Rantau Parapat Station to the official residence of PTPN VI Meranti Paham. 

    Meranti Paham is a place I never thought of as my holiday destination. Life without recreation areas, playgrounds, and without shopping centers. As long as I lived there for 20 days I felt bored because where I lived was around an oil palm plantation area. A place far from the city. Peat soil and poor water conditions. However, the village is not always bad in my eyes because there are many plantations around the plantation, making the air there cool and misty every morning. So that it can make me calm and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. While my brother was doing his service in Medan, my brother and I also went to Medan. That could have happened three times while I was there for a month. The office where my brother works is planning a vacation to Parapat, North Sumatra. My brother was appointed by the manager to do a survey of vacation spots. My brother invited my sister and me to take part in a survey and at the same time took us on vacation. But before doing the survey we went to Pematang Siantar because my brother and sister's friends had a wedding blessing. In Siantar I was taken for a walk by my female cousin to the horas market, kak Sri's noodle soup and to buy iced drinks. The next day my brother, sister, and I continued our journey to Parapat, North Sumatra to conduct a site survey. We moved around looking for lodging for PTPN IV Meranti Paham sightseeing. During the survey, I was amazed at the beauty that the inn offered, namely the very beautiful view of Lake Toba. I asked my sister to capture my laya against the backdrop of Lake Toba. Along the way, I constantly photographed the scenery along the way. After completing our survey, we looked for accommodation in Balige to rest because it was already late. The next day we continued our survey and then finished our survey on Bulbul's white sand beach. And that same day I parted ways with my brothers and sisters because the upcoming semester break meant that I had to return to Jakarta by plane from Silangit Airport to Soekarno Hatta Airport. It was hard leaving them there. And after they took me to Silangit airport, they also continued the journey back to Meranti Paham by car, which took 12 hours. Hooh, that's my vacation trip while in North Sumatra.
