Learning While Having an Impact at Al-Mu'min Junior High School with the "Kampus Mengajar" Batch 4

Kampus Mengajar is an Independent Campus program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). This program provides opportunities for students to learn, develop self-competencies, and hone leadership, soft skills, and character. In this program, student teaching experience can be recognized and equated with 20 credits. The Teaching Campus Program has a series of selections: administrative selection and diversity tests.

I am Kristy Agatha Hasugian, a student from the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Indonesian Christian University, who has passed from 36,000 student applicants to become part of the 15,000 selected students throughout Indonesia to participate in the Kampus Mengajar Program batch 4. I got a placement in his own domicile, to be precise at Al-Mu'min Middle School in Kalideres, West Jakarta.

This Teaching Campus activity is very fun and provides a lot of valuable experiences for me. This program was attended by various universities, both private and public throughout Indonesia. The Ministry of Education held a Teaching Campus program aimed at progressing student service and the relevance of knowledge gained while studying on campus to create new innovations in the community environment. Teaching at a junior high school was my first teaching activity so far, but I wasn't worried because before joining a school, the Teaching Campus program committee provided training for ± 1 month with resource persons who were competent in their fields.

Since the opportunity to join the Teaching Campus batch 4 with the main mission of "education" with friends from a group from different universities and students are also accompanied by Field Supervisors (DPL) who also guide students during the program. I got provisions that were able to change all aspects of my mindset toward education. By participating in this program, I have come to understand that the world of education really needs to continue to be developed and innovated. Being an educator is very fun, apart from that at my school institution I was also given a lot of new knowledge by the teachers. As well as the welcome from the SMP institution which was greatly helped by the presence of students. Then it becomes a challenge, how to make the learning atmosphere fun and interesting is a challenge in itself for me.
