Tugu Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta
is a province-level special region on the island of Java, Indonesia.
Interestingly, the name of the provincial capital is also Yogyakarta. Uniquely,
the name is often pronounced differently. Some call it Yogyakarta, Yogya,
Jogjakarta, or Jogja.
“Yogya
is made of longing, going home, and angkringan”
Yogyakarta
is friendly with pocket money. If you want to take a vacation to Yogya, you can
still find cheap accommodations that rent out rooms for IDR 60,000 per night.
Yogyakarta is also known as a popular hangout place or what people call it as
angkringan.
This
city is one of several cultural centers in Indonesia. Every visitor can explore
it by walking at the Keraton Museum (Sultan's Palace), chatting at Alun
Alun Kota, and shopping at Malioboro, from enjoying the wonders of nature by
visiting the beach to adventuring into other beautiful landscapes. Interesting
sight points can be found on Panguk Hill, Pengger Pines, and Tembelan Gorge.
Jogja's other tourist attractions are thousands of year-old temples, culture,
and natural beauty. These are just a few of the many attractions that we can
explore in Yogyakarta! To enjoy its culinary wonders, there is Gudeg, a special
concoction of traditional Javanese recipes that have become the hallmark of this
city. There is Bakpia, a traditional snack with lots of interesting flavors
which is popular as a souvenir.
The
city of Yogyakarta, in my opinion, is famous for its history, batik, and the
friendliness of the people. Regarding hospitality, I think we all agree
that Indonesians are well-known to tourists for their hospitality. It's only
natural to be called a special city because Yogya is indeed special. Its
culture and culinary delights have always been a tourist attractions.
